FAQs about Tasty Chicken Tikka Burgers

I’m looking for a veggie burger – can I do the recipe with a meat alternative?

Yes! I would recommend slices of halloumi rolled in flour and seasoning, or a giant portobello mushrooms instead of the chicken for a meat-free burger. Try this recipe.

Can I use something else instead of chicken fillet to make it a cheaper dish?

You could you chicken thighs instead of breast. They will be delicious too, but will just take slightly longer to cook.

Is it OK to use another seasoning?

You can use a curry powder or paste of your choice if you don’t have tikka seasoning or you’d prefer another flavour.

SIDE DISHES FOR FRIED CHICKEN BURGERS

Serve these with a side dish of your choice, but I would recommend homemade chips and zesty coleslaw as the perfect accompaniment.

Add this one to your meal plans if you’re looking summer recipes, weekend recipes, healthy family recipes or takeaway recipes.

It’s a good one for Nando’s lovers who like spice with their chicken burgers!

Tasty Chicken Tikka Burgers

These easy chicken burgers are ideal for a weekend for the whole family.
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 15 minutes
Total Time: 20 minutes
Servings: 4

Ingredients

  • 4 Chicken breasts
  • 6 tsp Tikka seasoning
  • 2 tsp Oil

To serve:

  • 4 Brioche buns
  • Lettuce
  • Dollop of mango chutney

Instructions

  • Cut a slice through the chicken breasts so you can flatten them out. I do this by bashing them with a rolling pin between a sheet of baking paper.
  • Sprinkle over the tikka seasoning.
  • In a large frying pan heat the oil and pan fry your chicken breasts for about 7 minutes each side on a medium heat (this will depend on how much you’ve flattened them so just cut one open to check it’s cooked before serving).
  • Plate up your burgers. I like to toast the brioche buns. Enjoy!

Delicious. Can’t believe how easy they are to make. The mango chutney is a great addition. Will be a regular meal in our household now.

  2. Hello, Would it be possible to use minced chicken (obviously with the tikka spice mixed in) for this recipe – I’ve a lot of chicken mince to use up?

    Many thanks

    1. I haven’t tried it, but sounds good! You may need to add breadcrumbs as chicken mince can be quite wet.

      1. Thank you kindly for replying, I’ll give it a go, and also try the original when I get some chicken fillets, they look amazing 😃
